I want to propose have a MOTW section and polls(member of the week)
I've seen this on another board and i think it might suit us nicely...
Basically its a way of cheerleading and a way to give encouragement to memebers of the E2A...
I would also propose if we do this to have a "Caretaker" someone that is charge of the polls (volunteer of course that is selected by us) that would be a good cheerleader and would do the duties necessary for MOTW section. This will give a sense that these boards are not here just for us adims to post and the rest to respond and to give them a sense of accomplishment in helping the group
these could be the proposed rules (modified from where I stole them) before I post this i will make them more E2A
IF we do this also this is basically what we can say in looking for our volunteer
"job" description would be sort of be like this:
the rules would of course need to be modified to fit e2a and i would word the "job description differently
I would like to take charge of this and help the caretaker once we get one( i know a bit on how this works as i'm the caretaker of the MOTW of the board i mentioned

General:
_Polls are only to be created by member of the week caretaker or Administrators.
_If you win the MOTW, you are to come up with a list of names and pass it along to (in the following preferred order) the member of the week caretaker, or to one of the administrators(builders) AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
_The time allotted for the poll will vary based on the number of votes tallied and/or by the fact that no more votes are coming in. The polls shall 'officially' remain in theory to be once-a-week events.. but in an instance of 'slow results'.. they can continue on for up to a maximum of two weeks.. with the timing based on the number of responses or the clarity of the results.. we will not 'force' them to be weekly events.
_If there is a tie, there will be a second 'run-off poll' created to break the tie.. in the event that another tie occurs, the MOTW caretaker and the management team will determine the winner based on that week's activities and participation.
Posting:
_There is to be NO posting in any of the polls, unless it is specifically okayed by an administrator.
_There will be NO asking others to vote for you anywhere on the board.. and there will be NO 'advertising' for yourself or for others allowed anywhere on the board or elsewhere.
_ALL polls are to be created and the threads locked(not the poll), (Note: Unless OK'D by an admin) all efforts should be made to ensure that the rules are being followed, names are to appear with correct spelling and in random order, and a simple 'form-explanation' is to be posted stating what the poll is for and what it represents.
_To continue to maintain these polls and to keep them fair and fun, these simple rules are not to be challenged or questioned publicly.. if you have comment or concern please send it via PM directly to myself, the management team, the MOTW caretaker or preferably to all of the above.
Name selection:
_3 to 5 names are to be selected for each poll.
_THE NAMES ARE TO BE SELECTED BASED ON THE VALUE THAT THEY HAVE RECENTLY ADDED TO THE BOARD, THE COMMUNITY, THE DISCUSSION AND/OR TO YOUR PERSONAL EXPERIENCE HERE OR IN CC.
_Outside of the management team or the MOTW caretaker (and we would have to agree).. there will be NO 'challenges' to the names provided, the winner of the last poll must HONESTLY and FAIRLY choose the next list of names for the group without interference, influence or commentary.
_The names of your administrators are not be to listed in the poll (Aximili E I/Guthix Acoylte, Funtail/Flora, Mannyhdz1/Murcy1974® =Þ).. anyone else can be listed.
_There is to be NO requesting for your own name to be listed, you have to earn it by being one of the people that makes the most difference here.
_If you feel that a name was somehow 'missed' or excluded and should be up in the running for MOTW.. it MUST be explained to the poll creator immediately upon notice and will only be added IF it can be done in the first few hours of the poll's existence or before votes start to come in.
_Whether or not an individual has won before should NOT have ANY influence on voting or being included..
Reasoning or rationale when voting:
_You are to vote based on who best represented themselves and group in the last many days.

_There is to be NO voting for your friends just because you like them or want them to win.
_There is to be NO 'political voting' or voting for or against someone to gain favor or influence.

-creating and monitoring the polls themselves..
-sorting out ties and issues that might come up..
-private messenging the weekly winner to get the next week's list together.. which could mean occasionally 'stirring the pot' to keep them moving forward about it..
-keeping the builders(admins) informed of all of the things that you would do by copying at least one of us on the PMs.. and using us a resource to lock, open or change the polls if or when required..
